Steam distilled from the leaf, geranium is a perennial shrub that has its origin in South Africa. It is utilized for skin and hair care applications and also frequently used as a natural insect repellant. A strengthening oil, it is often used to balance emotions and hormones, and lift the spirits. As a middle note, Rose Geranium blends well with lemon, orange, grapefruit, lavender, and patchouli. Its aroma has a sweet, herbaceous and floral scent that is ‘rosier’ than other geraniums. It is a less expensive option to rose absolute.
